The ACT Healthy Waterways partnership between the Southern ACT Catchment Group, Ginninderra Catchment Group, Molonglo Conservation Group and ACT Government

“An active and effective community is key to cleaning up our waterways, and the recognition helps our cause! Working in partnerships is the only way to go. Bringing people together for the health of the environment is a wonderful thing.”  Ralph Ogden, Program Manager ACT Healthy Waterways Project, ACT Government.

The ACT Healthy Waterways partnership between the Southern ACT Catchment Group, Ginninderra Catchment Group, Molonglo Conservation Group, and ACT Government was formed to improve water health.

The partnership has engaged more Canberrans in urban Landcare, increased stormwater literacy, reduced reduction stormwater pollution, and improved the amenity and ecological health of waterways.

Through this coordinated approach, residents around most of the large ACT Healthy Waterways sites have had an opportunity to learn more about the sites’ purpose, structure, and function.

This approach has been paired with education on stormwater in general to increase awareness of what Canberra residents can do to improve catchment health.
