This journey will hop over to one of the special islands in the Moreton Bay Marine Park where a number of community-driven initiatives are underway to restore the natural values. Coochiemudlo Coastcare will showcase three projects in an easy stroll around the small island:Saturated steam weeding for non-toxic weed control in collaboration with Quandamooka (QYAC) rangers; an interpretive signage project in the Melaleuca Wetlands; and shoreline restoration driven by community after a storm surge from ex Tropical Cyclone Oswald.
Also discussed will be an on-going program to replace traditional moorings with Environmentally Friendly Moorings by Healthy Land and Water.
Cost: $40 per person (includes transport, morning tea, lunch, water and snacks)

This field trip will depart from Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre at approximately 8.15am on Wednesday, 10 October 2018.
