Take 3 for the Sea addresses the growing problem of plastic pollution entering our ocean, waterways and broader environment with our simple, empowering call to action: Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or… anywhere and you have made a difference.

The Take 3 message has inspired over 270,000 participants in 129 countries to collect 2,500,000 pieces of rubbish annually and recycle, reducing the greenhouse gases emitted by degrading plastics. Behavioural changes adopted by Take 3 participants can have far reaching consequences. Take 3 has been shown to be scalable and highly replicable globally – with the #take3forthesea hashtag having been used over 65,000 times, reaching even Central Africa and mainland Europe.
