Cape Patterson Residents and Ratepayers Association & Harmers Haven Residents and Ratepayers Group: Friends of Harmers Haven

Along the Bass Coast, there are pockets of rare and endangered flora that provide habitat for vulnerable fauna including the Southern Brown Bandicoot, Orange-bellied Parrot, Hooded Plovers and Lewin’s Rail. A major reason this significant wildlife corridor and habitat has survived is the sustained and methodical initiatives undertaken by land managers and volunteers from Cape Patterson and Ratepayers Association and Harmers Haven Residents and Ratepayers Group over several decades.

The groups have worked together on highly successful projects including species monitoring, weed control, feral animal control and targeted revegetation that has enhanced the biodiversity in the area, and provided habitat for critically endangered species.
