Explore the environmental and cultural restoration of this Aboriginal Place through the eyes of Gundungurra man, David King. The day will kick off with an official Aboriginal ‘Welcome to Country’ at Echo Point in Katoomba where you will learn about Aboriginal connection to this beautiful location perched on the escarpment. You will then travel to nearby Maple Grove Reserve, part of the traditionally named Upper Gedumba Catchment to learn about Blue Mountain’s water monitoring program.  Afternoon activities will take you to “The Gully”, an amazing patchwork of swampland that brings together local Aboriginal Elders and the rest of the community to work tirelessly on vegetation restoration and wetland creation projects where you will meet the inspiring members of Garguree Swampcare.
