About the First Nations Landcare Gathering

The First Nations Landcare Gathering will be hosted on Sunday 21 September from 10am to 4pm at Guanaba, an Indigenous Protected Area on the Gold Coast, home of the Yugambeh language group.

This event is part of the 2025 National Landcare Conference program and will bring together First Nations Peoples and non-Indigenous people from across Australia.

Delegates attending this event will take a bus from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre to the IPA. This is event has a limited capacity, please register at your earliest convenience.

Tickets are limited, you may be required to add your name to the wait list.

What to Expect

Hosted by the First Nations Landcare Working Group

Suzanne Thompson, Richard Hoolihan, Natalie Somerville, Gail Reynolds-Adamson, Jackson Chatfield, Richard Hoolihan, Dhani Gilbert in partnership with Justine Dillon and other local mob.

Connecting with Country and local Mob

Spend time connecting with country, learning, listening and being part of country with local mob as they share their stories and connection to country, creating a safe space to share knowledge.

Yarning Circles: Culture and Knowledge Exchange

In the safe space created, these sessions will be led by participants needs, yarning circles will delve into matters and concerns closest to their hearts and minds. These will be free flowing discussions, with members of Landcare Australia’s First Nations Landcare Working Group and other local mob providing leadership and input to discussions.

Acknowledgement

The 2025 National Landcare Conference will be hosted in Queensland on the Gold Coast, in the area home to the Kombumerri people. We acknowledge and pay respects to the Traditional Custodians of these lands, sea, sky, and waterways that connects us all and to all Elders past, present, and emerging, whose wisdom and resilience continue to guide us to take care of this beautiful land we live, travel and work on.
