Gallagher Australia began its partnership with Landcare Australia in 2018 as sponsor of the 2018 National Landcare Conference and the donation of in-kind Gallagher Electric Fencing to support several Landcare Group projects nationally.
To increase the company’s efforts in demonstrating their commitment to local communities and the environment, in 2019 the Gallagher Landcare Electric Fencing Grants program was launched. These grants provide support for conservation fencing and grazing management projects around the country. Grant funding includes a combination of in-kind electrical fencing and monetary funding. Thirteen graziers and Landcare groups in six states were beneficiaries of these inaugural Gallagher Landcare Fencing Grants.
Landcare Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation established more than 30 years ago that supports the landcare community with funding, capacity-building, on-ground projects, information, networking and promotion of landcare achievements.
Together with the landcare community, our efforts improve biodiversity, build resilience in Australia’s food and farming systems, and create stronger communities. As a leader in the environmental sector, Landcare Australia has strong expertise in designing, managing and completing challenging and complex major ecological restoration projects involving large scale revegetation and carbon abatement.
Landcarer is a free online platform designed for the Landcare community. Established in 2018, Landcarer endeavours to help connect, cultivate, and assist the people in landcare in a number of ways.
Through the provision of free project management tools and a landcare specific digital social space, Landcarer aims to help improve biodiversity, the resilience of Australian agriculture, and the strength of the Landcare community.
National Landcare Network
Community Landcare is a “bottom up” movement applying local knowledge and experience to take action, delivering solutions on national and international challenges, whilst building community resilience and capacity.
The National Landcare Network is the peak representative body for community Landcare groups across Australia and works to provide a voice for Landcare at the national level.
With representatives from every State and Territory, we come together to represent, support and strengthen the knowledge, resources and capabilities of the Landcare movement and the thousands of volunteers who are at its heart.
We are guided by the following core values:
Representative | Consultative | Non-Party Political | Knowledge Based | Networked and Collaborative | Inclusive | Focussed on Making a Difference | Traditional Custodianship
Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment
The Australian Government recognises and supports the important role that community, farming and industry organisations play in the Landcare movement. This involvement builds community capacity to sustainably manage natural resources underpinning the productivity and profitability of the agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries. It also delivers wider community and environmental benefits.
The department supports the National Landcare Conference through the National Landcare Program (NLP). The Conference is the peak knowledge sharing forum in shaping Landcare into the future. The NLP is a key part of the Australian Government’s commitment to Natural Resource Management, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity protection, and the Landcare movement.
Saving our Species
The Saving our Species Program is one of the biggest conservation commitments ever undertaken in New South Wales. It is a movement involving volunteers, scientists, businesses, community groups and the NSW Government, all coming together to secure the future of Australia’s unique plants and animals.
The main objectives of Saving our Species are simple: to increase the number of threatened species that are secure in the wild in New South Wales for 100 years and control the key threats facing our threatened plants and animals. We know we cannot do this alone, so partnerships with organisations like Landcare in NSW are crucial.

Satusteam™ has proven to be a very useful tool to have on-hand to complement mechanical weed control methods.
