This involvement builds community capacity to sustainably manage natural resources underpinning the productivity and profitability of the agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries. It also delivers wider community and environmental benefits.

The Australian Government supports the National Landcare Conference through the Natural Heritage Trust. The Conference is a peak knowledge sharing forum in shaping Landcare into the future. The Natural Heritage Trust is the Australian Government’s key investment platform for achieving its natural resource management, sustainable agriculture and environmental protection outcomes.

Landcare Australia supports the next generation of landcare leaders via its Junior Landcare program and activities that support young adults. The NextGen Landcare Summit will be hosted as part of the 2025 National Landcare Conference with a program curated by young leaders so that the event is by young people, for young people. Environer is Australia’s independent knowledge hub informing environmental stewardship decisions for primary producers. Developed by the University of New England in partnership with AgriFutures Australia, Environer is a free online decision-support tool for farmers, fishers and foresters who want to learn more about managing natural capital, biodiversity and carbon for multiple benefits. The focus is on opportunities that provide access to commodity markets and financial products and outcomes related to carbon and emissions reduction, sustainability and environmental stewardship.
