Commonwealth Environmental Water Office
The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder (CEWH) protects
and restores the rivers and wetlands of the Murray–Darling Basin.
We deliver water for the environment when and where plants and animals need it most, including to our internationally recognised wetlands.
We work in partnership with First Nations, federal and state
government agencies, basin communities and industry.
Our work is underpinned by the latest science and the local knowledge of
communities that live and work by the river, which for First Nations people, dates back over 40,000 years.
We engage meaningfully and monitor thoroughly to deliver tangible outcomes and benefits across the Basin.
