Arnhem Coast Clean Up commenced in 2020 as a community led initiative to clean up the coastal areas in East Arnhem Land. Working in collaboration with the Dhimurru Rangers, passionate volunteers run clean up events to minimise marine debris which washes up on the shores, impacting culturally and environmentally significant sites.
During the dry season, Arnhem Coast Clean Up organise regular beach clean-up activities, encouraging participation of local community and visiting tourists. The large turnout of children at each clean up provides opportunities for educating the younger generation to help create a cleaner, happier marine environment.
